# Can't connect first time to Access Point

Just got my new EYESY, trying to set it up with WiFi and going over the instructions (tuning on with shift key pressed etc.) but I don’t see the EYESY in my available WiFi networks.

Using black Eyesy, with Macbook pro m4.

USB turns on correctly (blue light) but I suspect this dongle doesn’t allow for AccessPoint because on the shop page [Critter & Guitari](https://www.critterandguitari.com/shop/usb-wifi-adapter) (mine looks like this one) it says “• This adapter will not generate an Access Point.”

It sounds like you have a newer EYESY which uses the on screen menu to connect to WiFi. The old software version allowed for AP mode, so maybe you are looking at the wrong manual? Here are instructions for the current version:
