The link to download OS v3.0 in the user manual seems to be broken. Can you direct me to that new OS file? Also, just confirming that v3.0 will run on the old (red) Eyesy

Thanks!

These links should be working now:

This will work with all EYESYs (black or orange versions)

Oh wow!!! :heart_hands:t2:

Great news, especially re Python 3.11

What’s the status of the Lua OS version that existed alongside the previous Python 2 version?

This is cool! I especially like the palettes. Thanks for continuing to support the Eyesy!

Very exciting! Would love to see what python 3 can do in this environment, hope to see some cool posts soon!

Has anyone else had a bizarre problem once they have flashed their SD card with the new OS? When I boot the eyesy I get a weird DOS type error asking me to press enter …

Is flashing the SD card on a card reader of different types an issue?

That sounds strange, did you run into any trouble flashing the card? What does the error say?

The plan was to get Lua and OpenFrameworks working alongside Python, but due to changes to the underlying operating system (which we had to upgrade to support newer WiFi adapters), we were struggling to get it working. Hopefully the situation improves in the future.

same here. I says something like “cannot acces directory. Root directory is locked”. Sorry, I don’t know exactly the words because I installed 2.3 again. I tried flashing 6 times. No trouble while flashing

No trouble flashing the card … and the error was the same as “EfeuWinterfest” mentioned … that is " “cannot access directory. Root directory is locked”.

It then asks for me to press enter etc … I will try and flash the card on a PC - usually that solves the problem!

Did you flash it on a mac or PC?

Thanks for the update… I’ve been using a Mac to flash, I don’t know if I’ve tried flashing this specific disk image on PC, so that might be something to try.

I flashed it on PC

@EfeuWinterfest & @bazzhandler - did you try flashing with the disk image zipped or unzipped?

Were the Ableton Link features deprecated in v3.0? I only see references to these in the v2.0 manual. Thanks!

I’m running into the same issue flashing on a Mac. “Root directory is locked” message comes up on a blue screen after booting the Eyesy up
