Does early versions of Organelle have the features or allow update to firmware for current features? I realize this sounds like a ridiculously stupid question. But I can’t find any way to ask this question in any other way on this Criiter & Guitari site. I am looking a second hand Organelle that does not have any “holes” for input or output. I don’t know what version this is and this site does not appear to have any reference to it.
Seems like you are looking to something that it isn’t an organelle… As they all have “holes” for i/o.. Maybe you are looking to a pocket piano or some other Critter&guitari device ? . Btw. if you post that link here, someone might confirm..
Sorry, I’m talking about the speaker grill on top of the unit. Here is a photo of it. I don’t see this version on the site. “input/output” was a bad choice of words, I meant I didn’t know if it was a speaker or mic behind the grill.
Ok. thats a first gen Organelle. Still a very useful and enjoyable machine
.. Its software was updated last time in 2020 (a bit like the newer models..)
Main differences:
No TRS midi
No speaker
No microphone
no batteries
single core processor & 512 Mb ram (instead of quad core & 1Gb)
Arch linux instead of raspbian.
Still runs most organelle patches . MAybe it’s not ideal for orac / Orhack and other multicore optimized patches..
same tiny screen
same wireless capabilities
same wood keys
thinner and lighter than OrganelleM
output in 2 big mono jacks instead of 1 big stereo jack.
