I recently received the Organelle M, and it just emits potential, but I am confused as to what I would need to put the sounds from the patches to be recorded in a logic track.

I’ve read people suggest a combination of a midi interface and cable, such as:

and

Another suggested something like this with the cables that go with it:
[https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-U-Control-UCA202-Ultra-Low-Interface/dp/B000KW2YEI](https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-U-Control-UCA202-Ultra-Low-Interface/dp/B000KW2YEI)

I have a MacBook Pro (early 2013) and a Scarlett 2i2, but in the two topics I read, one suggests the 2i2 would not work while the other says it does. I’m new to this, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The forum topics I read:

I’m using the Organelle M plugged into my Mackie Onyx-820i (firewire) that sends to a stereo channel in Logic. It should work with your setup.

If you want to send the audio from your organelle into logic your scarlet interface should work. Just connect the outputs of the organelle to the inputs of the scarlet.

If you want to send the midi information from the organelle, that’s a little more complicated but I think others have done it with host to host midi equipment?? Not sure though, haven’t done it myself.

Maybe check out the iconnectmidi2+

Since the Organelle M has MIDI in/out ports, all you’ll need is a USB to MIDI adapter and DIN to TRS adapters. So it would go PC → USB to MIDI DIN → MIDI DIN to MIDI TRS → Organelle.

@kaiakaiakaikai But it seems like you just want to record the audio output of your Organelle? Your Scarlett is already great for that, don’t need anything else in that case.

Thanks for the clarification! You’re definitely right, I am trying to get the audio output from the M. What cord would be best for that connection?

The Organelle line out is a 6.35 mm or 1/4" TRS jack, and your Scarlett line in is a combo 1/4" TRS jack and XLR input (it will fit both). So you can use any 1/4" to 1/4" stereo cable, or a 1/4" to XLR cable. Hope that helps. 🙂

Perfect, thank you! @fwwwn
