# Organelle to computer via Type A Cable

Hi!  
I’m wondering if it’s possible to send midi data with a single Type A to Type A cable from my computer to the organelle.

It is not.

USB midi has a host / device architecture, meaning communication is only possible between a host and a device.

Two devices can’t communicate over usb and neither can two hosts.

The organelle is a host and so is the computer.

To enable a midi usb connection between two hosts you need a device like this:
