# Pocket Piano MIDI startup midi channel default

Is it possible to change the startup default midi channel on the PP201 (version with the 2 midi din sockets -no usb) ? If so - where can I find the file to edit and upload ?

I want to avoid setting the channel manually on startup

Hi, I think you’re asking about the [Pocket Piano MIDI](https://www.critterandguitari.com/pocket-piano)? (which is different than the [201](https://www.critterandguitari.com/201-pocket-piano)!)

The Pocket Piano MIDI will always start up on MIDI CH.1. There isn’t a method to change the start up channel.
