Using Grds to sequence external gear?

Hi all, I’m pretty new to the Organelle and wondering if it’s possible to use Grds to sequence external gear (ie a Digitakt), and if so, how?

Thanks!

It is! It can be done using Orac. If you are using a USB connection, make sure that it is recognized as a MIDI device in your settings first. If you have an M or S and are using the 1/8 MIDI inputs and outputs, it should be plug and play.

In Orac, load up Grds or Grids by @electrafa into a chain. Next, go to your router settings and adjust the MIDI output channel settings and you should be good to go!

Thanks for the reply, appreciate it! Really glad to hear it’s possible. I only tried it using the standalone patch and that didn’t work, but I’ll give it a go in Orac tomorrow. I may have a few more questions by then, since I haven’t used Orac yet, but I’m gonna try to make it work. Thanks again.

Hi, me again. I now have Grids (in Orac) sequencing a Nord Drum, which works great, but I’d like to send clock and especially transport from a Digitakt to the Organelle to start and stop Grids. Is there a way to have multiple midi devices connected like this? I can only connect either the Nord Drum or the Digitakt, not both. I’m using the original Organelle btw.

I’ve read about thetechnobear’s advanced midi setup, is that still the only way I could get this setup to work? Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: I now have Orac receiving clock from the Digitakt but transport still doesn’t seem to work. My problem seems to have less to do with midi and more with Orac and transport from external gear.
