This week I’ve been using Pd on my laptop, two Bela Pepper modules and an Organelle.
Organelle runs Pd directly with visual feedback (HDMI screen) and physical feedback (knobs).
This made patching and programming way faster as it avoids going back and forth between the patch, IDE and compiled code on Bela. On Bela, I do this tens of times, just to see how a knob performs on Pepper. And I like to combine Pd with analog filtering. That’s why I’d welcome a Bela in Eurorack format.
some things are just better to stay how they are, the limitations, the little imperfections here and there, all these gives a human feel, and with time the device become an extended part of you…your music, whatever you do,…artistic creation, just look at all these synths and drum machines…you see a new one every 2 months, when actually what you really see is a glorified plugin placed in a digital box, new screen, new fancy buttons, new colours, (or a copy of another copy), people buy these, then 2 weeks later you find them on Ebay, uninspiring pieces of gear, I think the CG organelle M and S together with the other CG bits gives an unlimited potential of sound design,…artistic creation, you load a new patch (and the community keeps realising), you have a new sound, its like having another instrument in your hand, and most importantly you create your own signature sound, so, rather than a new hardware device maybe software updates with new features, small things here and there improved, the device itself is more than alright, it has a human feel on creating…whatever you try to, and thats what you want, plus is sturdy, it lasts many years, probably decades if you look after it, myself last night I bought a second organelle m from Ebay, one for sound design, and the other I run a doepher dark energy mk1 thru it, and oh my such unlimited amount of sound, all best to everyone, keep create with what you already have
I know there has been a lot of talk on a future Organelle but I was wondering if C&G is planning on releasing a new Organelle with the CM5 that came out recently? Even if everything else stays the same, that alone would make me purchase a new one
Just droppin this here:
7 dollar touch display with ESP32 and compatible with open source LVGL graphic library (there are 4dollar versions without touch)

Personally I hate touch screens, and would much rather stay with the encoder but ideally one that’s much quieter
Maybe a menu system with back/forward buttons in addition to the encoder if really overhauling the UI, but I have no idea how much change we should expect…
