Hi! 17 years ago I bought a video scope from Critterandguitari. It was kinda simple, but pretty cool, and also very delicate, it was set up at a right angle, with the 2 potentiometers as the only connection points to the surface. At one point it broke, one of the potentiometers bent and broke, and I was never able to fix it. I’m finally digging it back out, and trying to repair it, but having a hard time identifying the potentiometers. I think i finally identified one of them, using the cryptic markings on the top of the broken pot, but I’m not sure if they are both the same or if there are 2 different pots being used. Problem is, the other one broke in such a way that the identifying codes are lost.
It’s a Dearraindrop design, and I’m not sure if there are any schematics or old information manuals around for this unit. I’d love to get this baby up and cooking again, but I don’t want to solder in the wrong pots and break it or something. I’m bad enough with soldering that I only want to attempt it once if possible. I’m pretty sure the one pot is an Alps RK09L series dual-gang (2-gang) potentiometer with a 10 kΩ resistance value, but I don’t know if the other one is too, also I don’t know which pot goes on which side. They are the exact same size, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are the same specs.
