External audio interface with Organelle M

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to connect an external usb audio interface to Organelle M and have more than 2 outputs?

Or

Is there any hope of having an Organelle with multiple outputs in the future?

I would love to be able to run several mono streams from the Organelle into effects units.

Yes you can connect an external audio interface , I do this a lot for connecting to eurorack (es-8) but you can use any class complaint audio interface.

Ive had a few people PM’ing me about this, how to do it…and since its easier since OS 3.0 I thought Id post a quick ‘how to’… and some pitfalls, and things to consider the essence of the answer to this question - is to provide Pure Data with command line options to make it use the audio interface. so there are a few steps to this: a) what are the command line option? b) how do I know what to use? c) where to put these options so they get picked up? ok, im going to answer these in reverse …

My initial reaction was that the only sensible thing was to be able to choose it from the menu in the Organelle, but having it as part of an individual patch is actually a really good idea for specialized setups! Gonna have to try this out!

As I don’t have a screen at home, I cannot see if the MOTU Ultralite MK4 works with the Organelle. Has anyone tried this with the MOTU? My first attempt by using -audiodev 7 did not work.
