5 Moons "6 Moons" patch

Trying a few things and getting somewhere with arrays and adding synced loops mode, pitch, reverb etc.

Long way off anything road worthy though! But the little 5 Moons processor seems to be taking this in it’s stride.

Nice! Oh yeah just to put some numbers to the CPU capability, from my own experiments:

RAM: About 500MB total, about 300MB free running just the vanilla patch + wifi for ssh.
CPU: Uses about 35% of the single core with 5 tracks playing + input monitoring enabled + audio line in + USB audio stereo out + wifi/ssh working. (So the vanilla setup should have a bit more CPU headroom than this.)

(This is just one sampling, other’s results may vary.)

Thanks! Yeah this is just under 50% from logging cpu with nothing that’s needed to make it stress much more.

Considering that it has very similar specs to Organelle-1, It should be able to definitely do 5 stereo tracks + a couple of effects

Click track is now a drum track to play along and be synced with (the 6th track). Also added a mute track mode so the non-synced can be stopped and started from beginning.

I’m needing to smooth out / put overrides on the sliders and might change the reverb as freeverb doesn’t work with the pan when wet.

Should also add it doesn’t have a song mode and works with arrays (so has inbuilt length of track limitation currently set to 20 seconds but could be longer).

If anyone wants to try it as is I’ll upload it somewhere and write some instructions. It’s meant as an alternative patch for the 5 Moons not a replacement.

Wow!!! I’m blown away with work you’ve put in here. I love the unpredictable you get with the 5moons but the 6moons on a different sd card would be fantastic if you could upload it and definitely leave the instructions.
Just the sync record would of been enough for me but it’s fantastic all the other extras you’ve put into it especially the pitch.
I am truly grateful for the time & effort you guys put in to make C & G gear even better.

Hope it works!

Thanks. Had a play around with it yesterday and the potential of creativity when I get more time and my head around it, will be amazing!!

Yeah, did think it might be a bit user unfriendly as quite a few changes, but tried to leave the core functionality the same. If there’s a better way to use the buttons / shift or colour leds I’m all ears as that’s quite easy to change.

The one thing I need to do something about is that sliders have inherent analog noise so even though it’s controlled a bit in patch it can chuck a value in a menu when you don’t want it too e.g. change pitch of track if you linger in the pitch menu too long as the slider is in volume position. Override works well on the Organelle when you can see a value to go too. I’ll have a think at some point!
