I am interested in generative ambient music and I have found a used original 201 available.
How does it differ from the new 201 and the Organelle (apart from the screen)? And would.it be a good tool for some generative sequencing and sound creation?

I think the fist one doesn’t run puredata and you can’t change anything about it so probably isn’t the best choice for generative sequencing.
The 201 runs Pure Data and can be changed via Disk Mode. Were you thinking that the OP was discussing the original Pocket Piano?
Right!. I thought that the ‘original’ 201 was the pocket piano…
Anyway, I would still choose an Organelle for advanced techniques because of the extra Keys / inputs / patches & display…

I am buying a used unit as I cannot afford either of them new. Would I be able to load some fun generative stuff into the 201?
