With a Lithium Ion rechargeable battery.
To make it worse, I made the same mistake with my also now-defunct Bastl Microgranny. I discovered both of them dead on the same day. I’m so heartbroken - they were my two first microsynths and always my favorite of all time.
Any idea if it would be hard to repair? Or worth it? I really wish you still made them as well as the 201.
Thanks,
Jonathon
Sorry to hear this. Do you have a power supply you can try to power the Pocket Piano? The required specs are:
- 9VDC
- minimum 300mA
- 2.1mm tip with center-positive polarity
Yeah. One Spot standard 9v power supply like for guitar pedals. Nothing worked. I’m wondering if it was the Lithium-Ion nature or the high mA (1000) that did it. I’m guessing the latter?
‘One Spot’ power supplies typically have a tip with center-negative polarity. The Pocket Piano requires a tip with center-positive polarity (diagram below):
One Spot makes a polarity reverser for this use case.
It worked! And as it turns out, all 3 of the batteries I tried were dead - it’s not the devices! Derp. They must have gotten put in the “fresh” pile mistakenly. Whew - huge relief! Thank you!
