Here you go, I’ve remapped the GUI to Organelle controls:
v 1 - 8: Voice 1 to 8 trigger sensors
1: tune, voices 1 - 4
2: tune, voices 5 - 8
3: fast switch, voices 1 - 8 in pairs
4: sharp, voices 1 - 8 in pairs
5: mod, voices 1 - 4 in pairs
6: mod, voices 5 - 8 in pairs
7: hold & pitch controls, voices 1 - 4 & 5 - 8
8: switches
9: hyper lfo
10: delay
11: delay mod
12: distortion
13: unused
14: cpu monitor
The function of pots 1 - 4 will change depending on the selected page.
Aux: unused, though aux LED is linked the LFO.
I really like how Mike Moreno put this patch together, it feels very much in tune with ideas and flow of the LYRA 8 so I tried to keep the Organelle adaption as in tune with that as I could. The number of parameters does mean it is a little menu dive-y but I haven’t found navigation too bad while I’ve been playing with it.
A couple of notes on the patch itself:
- The patch will save the parameters states and recall them on load. I really like this little touch.
- There is a section of the patch to handle incoming MIDI notes with 8 voice polyphony though I haven’t tried this so I’m not sure how it will work
- I continued to see a few CPU spikes while editing the patch, though I was using VNC the whole time it may be fine in standalone use.
- I began adding a pot-pickup mechanism to the patch to avoid sudden changes in value while navigating but the pickup was a little laggy and would get stuck at certain points. I’ve used the patch on my main computer without problems, I also tried the same patch in mother and the issue was still there so I think it may be down to timing, number of messages, etc. If anyone has any advice on implementing a pot-pickup mechanism in Organelle I’d be happy to hear it.
- I haven’t touched the DSP side of the patch but I’ve checked the data from the controls is arriving in the right places so everything should sound as Mike intended.
I’ve been thinking about adding MIDI CC control to the parameters, making some form of start-up animation and making the menus a little nicer (this is my first Organelle patch and the display messages are something I’m yet to explore in detail) but for now I’m quite eager to make some noise.
Enjoy!
