Hey I mistakenly thought the sd card on the Organelle M would just pop out like on the Organelle 1, and it did just pop out, but when i went to pop it back in it just fell into the case.
Now its rattling around in there and the Organelle wont start up or shut down properly without it.
Is it safe for me to just carefully take the shell off and get it out of there?

I just went ahead and popped er open. It was pretty easy and for anyone who has the same problem dont mess with the speaker. You do not need to unscrew the speaker in order to pop the shell. Man, i am a dingus
yeah, speaker and pots caps (unlike o-1) do not need need removing to remove base.
when you remove base be careful with the battery wires - you can disconnect if you need to (remember orientation of wires) but you can also keep connected if you are careful - and just need to retrieve sdcard.
removing the main board (for this pots need removing) , I found a little harder, as the enclosure needs to slightly “bend” to do this - but generally you should not need to do this assuming you do not dislodge the keys (so try to avoid this if at all possible)
… its not big deal if it happens, but life is easier if it doesn’t

yessir i noticed i could have disconnected the battery wires and made things a bit easier but being single minded about my mission i was quick to retrieve sd and reassemble. haha

This is another gizmo for which the SD card will get two pieces of Kapton tape on to make a “leash” about 1/2" long.

Those damn sd card slots, I had the same issue with my Microgranny.

If this happens to anyone else, I made the same blunder and was able to tease it out through an opening in the battery compartment. Phew!
