Pocket Piano versions

Hi there.

I have this question I haven’t found any answer for in the forums.
I know there are several versions of Pocket Piano:

  • Some are green and some are silver, ok
  • Some are MIDI and some are not
  • Some have the 7th mode, Mono Glider
  • Some have the Hold function
  • Some MIDI ones have the chain mode.

I know the sticker on the back describes that. My question is: are there “full monty” PP, i.e. MIDI ones with Mono Glider and chain mode? In whatever color hehe.

Or maybe some combinations do not exist.
And out of curiosity, when the different versions did appear in time?

Thanks in advance

Oh and finally: will the 201 have chain mode and hold function?

Hmm… maybe we can try to catalogue what we have already seen.

I’ve seen:

  • Several non MIDI silver or green, 7 mode PP with hold function. S/N45XX, 49XX, 59XX, 61XX, the stickers say 2014-2016.
  • Several non MIDI green or silver, 7 mode PP without hold function.
  • Several MIDI silver, 6 mode PP without hold function but with chain function, S/N26XX, 2012

The progression of Pocket Piano releases and their functions is as follows:

2010
Pocket Piano - Silver Enclosure - 6 Modes

July 2011
Pocket Piano - Silver Enclosure - 6 Modes
Pocket Piano GR - Green Enclosure - 7 Modes

October 2011
Pocket Piano - Silver Enclosure - 6 Modes
Pocket Piano GR - Green Enclosure - 7 Modes
Pocket Piano MIDI - Silver Enclosure - 6 Modes

August 2014
Pocket Piano - Silver Enclosure - 7 Modes - Hold function
Pocket Piano - Green Enclosure - 7 Modes - Hold function
Pocket Piano MIDI - Silver Enclosure - 7 Modes - Hold function
Pocket Piano MIDI - Green Enclosure - 7 Modes - Hold function

Thanks for the detailed answer, @chrisk.
I guess all MIDI PPs have chain mode then, which would make sense.
