Connecting Condenser Mic to Organelle?

Hey all!

I’m trying to connect a microKorg microphone to my organelle, but I can’t seem to get it to register. It’s a 2 ring 1/8 inch jack on the mic, and I have an 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch adapter that I know works, does anyone know the correct adapter I’d need? Thanks!

If your adapter is trs (2 rings) it should work, even a ts adapter should give you sound on one side I think. If you have an Organelle M have you selected the input vs. the onboard mic?

Wait, does the mic require power?

I don’t believe so. If so, is there an adapter/dongle that would work?

The microhpone’s 2 Ring 1/8 inch => 1/8 to 1/4 adaptor => organelle does not seem to work, but

The microhpone’s 2 Ring 1/8 inch => Zoom h1 => 1/8 to 1/4 cable => organelle Does work, but is obviously too many steps for practical use

Condenser mics usually require a power source.

Looking at the H1 specs, the jack you are using provides that power:

The H1 Mic/Line Input is a stereo ⅛" mini phone jack that can accept two mic- and/or line-level signals. Condenser microphones requiring Plug-In Power (2.5 volts) can be connected to this jack.

Any stand-alone adapter cable for that mic would have to include a battery.

Ahhh thank you! That makes sense. So I’m guessing the organelle does not have any plug-in power capability?

That’s correct.
