Hey everyone! I’m trying to send midi information from Ableton live to the organelle m and then sending the audio that it creates in the organelle m back to Ableton live. What equipment do I need and how’s the best way to go about this? Any and all information is greatly appreciated. Here’s a video of what I’m talking about.
ok, assuming those are TRS to MIDI DIN converters (type A) , then what you need is
an audio interface
a midi interface
some cables - midi cables and audio cables, exact specs depending upon what interface you buy!
some audio interfaces also incorporate midi interface, so thats one less thing on your desk
e.g https://focusrite.com/en/usb-audio-interface/scarlett/scarlett-4i4
loads of audio interfaces to choose from at different price points and sizes (if portability is required),
usually the main deciding factor is how many input and output they have (and do they have midi or not) - if its just for the organelle then you just need 2 in and 2 out (stereo), but its a good idea to get a few more inputs that you need - in case you later add other instruments.
note: the better brands (focusrite, motu) also tend to have better latency/jitter, so if yo
also you’ll find alot of used audio interfaces, particularly smaller ones on eBay etc… often because people are trading up to bigger ones (ones with more inputs)
lastly, this is a very general topic… you’ll find lots of advice online (youtube etc) on how to setup a small home studio, which will cover getting midi and audio in and out of your computer… and in this regard the organelle is no different from any other musical instrument/synth
