I am using a Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol A25 keyboard controller and 3GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5 Mac Mini 2018,Sequoia 15.3 with Logic Pro Version 11.1.2 downloaded. So far, I am delighted to be using EYESY Audio In mode.
I am, of course, naturally curious about MIDI In mode too. The EYESY user manuals is very clear on what’s required to setup MIDI. That is, I believe, a cable with a 3.5mm TRS-MIDI Type A plug on one end and a USB A, C or Thunderbolt plug on the other end. I can’t seem to find a matching product anywhere.
Can someone please offer exact hardware to connect EYSEY MIDI In to my Mac Mini?
Welcome to the clunky world of midi cables. There is currently no such cable providing USB to TRS midi. So you need to combine cables or other devices.
Options to get from USB to 3.5mm TRS:
USB A Midi adapter - female 5 pin midi to TRS A cable.
USB into Blockas Midihub - (midihub internal routing) - out via male 5 pin to TRS A cable.
Midi is really fun and powerful with EYESY, I think it is worth the trouble/expense to get it working.
