Hi, I own a 2018 Organelle1 i used to work with a lot back in the days but its been a while… I’m trying to refigure it out and i feel like there’s quite a mess in the USB folder, also not sure its version been updated. its says version 3.1, but i know it came out only on 2021. + as i understand there’s already a version 4? is it only for the organelle m, or can it be installed on the organelle1 as well?
there are different files and patches I’m not sure if i downloaded in the past or if they came with the synth. also the wifi thing doesn’t really work but i don’t own the original critter & guitari dongle so I’m guessing that’s the issue there (anyone knows where can i buy it? it’s out of stock in their website for quite a while now)
anyways-
I’m wondering if there’s a way to just reset the organelle to its factory settings? i only saw some instructions on how to do it with the organelle M but I’m not sure it works the same as the previous version i own.
It seems like the only way to do it is to delete the storage and redownload things, but I’d really rather use a whole in one factory reset button if there’s such a thing. any advice?

The Organelle 1 has a disk image for OS 4.0. The update instructions and link to the file are in the Organelle 1 manual. These linked instructions are the only method for getting the Organelle to the ‘factory setting.’
Some Organelle 1s shipped with a 4GB micro SD card. The disk image for OS 4.0 requires a micro SD card with a minimum capacity of 8GB.
As noted in the manual, the Organelle 1 has only been tested to work with USB-WiFi adapters that use the Ralink 5370 chipset. If your USB-WiFi has a different chipset, it may not work. (Unfortunately in the time since the Organelle 1 was released, the Ralink 5370 chipset has been discontinued. This is why our website is out of stock.)
If your USB-WiFi adapter is incompatible with your Organelle, please use a USB drive for patch storage. Instructions for how the drive should be organized are in the manual.

Hi, apparently I didn’t have an SD card reader on my computer so it took me a while to get one… but finally I’ve successfully managed to update the OS. TNX again for the help!
Another follow-up question regarding the WIFI dongle-
I’ve found one for sale in AliExpress that fits the description you gave me, I just wanted to make sure its supposed to work before I purchase it.
also there’s this one that is way cheaper… not sure if it’s compatible though

Hi, this one says it has the correct chipset (RT 5370):
…but I cannot guarantee their descriptions will match reality.
The description for the second adapter you linked to says that adapter has a different chipset (RT8188) so I’m not sure it will work.
