Organelle Returns with New Model S2!

Just got my S2. Pleased with the unit itself, but I feel compelled to point out the inaccuracy of C&G’s claim about the “redesigned SD card slot that prevents the card from slipping into the device.” While it may have been “redesigned” (the only noticeable difference from a visual comparison to my organelle M is that the slot in the metal casing is slightly bigger on the S2) it does not “prevent the card from slipping into the device.” Maybe this is just my particular unit, but there is just as much, if not more, space and opportunity for a card to be improperly inserted and fall into the innards of the casing, and there isn’t anything blocking the gap that would physically prevent a misaligned SD card from falling into the case. It wouldn’t even be true to say the “redesigned” slot makes it more difficult for the card to accidentally slip into the case. This minor gripe and is only directed towards the marketing claim, not the device itself: the design of the SD slot is perfectly fine (on both the S2 and M), but overstating or misrepresenting the “redesigned” slot’s capabilities is an unforced and avoidable error, IMHO.

The change was made to the inside bracket which is now shaped to prevent the card falling in. Perhaps your unit got the old part installed by mistake. Send a DM or contact support and we’ll get it resolved.

In what way is the new encoder updated? I found the rattling noise of the old one quite loud sometimes. Has that changed?

The S2 uses a different part for the encoder. It is a little quieter, for both turning and pressing.
