Orhack (beta)

Can anyone advise me on how to remove the “hold encoder for shutdown” from the orhack patch? It never works when I need it to, and sometimes seems to happen by accident (when I’m not even holding the encoder)

I am totally new to Organelle and PureData but am really excited about your work. I just wanted to let you know, that I will gladly help you to edit or produce videos if you want.

Meanwhile I will sit down and learn more regarding the coding  thanks so much!

Does anyone know if the “random” waveform on the LFO is broken? I’m scratching my head here trying to get a very minimal amount of random modulation but it seems even with the amount at zero and offset in the middle it’s still going all over the place. Thanks if anyone can help

It probably means you didn’t assign the modulation correctly, so the parameter in question is being acted on by multiple LFOs

To test if this is the case, set every Random LFO to minimum value and see if the parameter stops moving around wildly.

Remember the order of operations for assigning the LFO (including Random):

  1. Press AUX on the page of the LFO you want to use
  2. Go to the module of the parameter you want to modulate and set “mod learn”
  3. Twiddle the knob of the parameter you want to modulate
  4. Select mod learn again to disable it
  5. Return to the LFO page you started on and press AUX again.

You can end up assigning multiple LFOs to one parameter by forgetting to disable mod learn.

let me know if this sorts it

Oh and; the Random LFO has no offset, just a minimum and maximum value. You might have misread the controls?

This doesn’t seem to be an issue in 8rac if you feel like migrating.

(8rac is based on 0rhack, but made less CPU intensive and has some bug fixes.)

I am talking about the random waveform on the LFO module, not the morpher module. I am almost certain I did it correctly bc I started over and it was the only lfo I was working with. Any idea if this is one of the bug fixes addressed in 8hack?

The morpher module doesn’t work for me bc it’s tempo synced. I’m looking for something that’s truly random for more of a glitchy effect when setting it to sample speed parameters.

thanks so much for your replies

Oh I thought you meant the Random module assigned to key A#.

No clue if this is different in 8rac, sorry.

Hi @jbls ,

thanks for your kind response, lot of time passed but i really appreciated your help! I am using the latest version of Orhack.

The problem still remain the same with Percussions module in Orhack.

I follow your instructions but nothing, can someone confirm me that the correct folder for Orhack Percussion samples is :confused:media/orhack/kits/kit-1 for Kit 1, for example?

Also, i can tell you that Samplement module in Orhack works good with same samples from the same folder (:confused:media/orhack/kits/kit-1). So, i think the solution is not so far!

I tried to check also Percussions module in Orac, with same samples, and it works! But in this case the samples folder is different: :confused:media/samples/kit-1

I really like Orhack, which i think it’s the best, so i cannot surrender to this issue!

I hope someone can give me some advice.

Organelle always the best!

You comment, especially the part that for learning modulation is tap aux and unlearning is hold aux, should be pinned, highlighted and printed because this is so important information and with the lack of official documentation is absolutely necessary.

Hello @SoytoAlloko_25 and anybody else having the same issue.

Since I upgraded to the Organelle S2 and messing around a lot with Orhack and trying out stuff. While preparing a new USB-Stick and setting up a lot of patches and reinstalling Orhack I ran into the same issue and after a few hours was really confused that I haven’t found the issue earlier.

Its in the json-file.

The file is in the main folder of the patch (Patches/0RHACK).

The exact file name is ‘orac.json’.

you can download the json file from here and replacing it. Or if u have a the Organelle S2, edit the file in the Web Server. Make sure to add /orhack to the media directory

Hopefully @Audivit can bring this project to the point, were it fulfills his approach and growing out of beta status. I’m sure a lot of people would appreciate that. So far we have to hope a bit…

all the best!

Hi @jbls ! It was really a nice surprise to hear again from you about this issue with Samplement module!

Just replaced the jason file and it works finally! Thanks a lot!

I wish @Audivit was still in the community, always cheking if he has come back  i would be really glad to help him for the last release..

Hey !

About Samplement, @Donnerbono fixed the click that occurred when pressing or releasing the keys. The envelope (page 3) is now functional.

Thanks @Donnerbono ^^

After some years with problems with unlearning LFOs, reading here I saw three times the same answer by helpful people, but were not resolving my problem. But after experimenting for some time it works more consistently for me if I change this:

to this:

  1. first click the encoder knob to bring up the module’s menu (where you’d go to change modules) and click “mod learn” AND THEN go to the module.

maybe it helps someone with the same problems.

Anybody knows the state of this project? It is pretty much all I use on the organelle, and would love to see an update, specially with the new S2 hardware!
