USB drive patch storage

yes, reload/eject to switch between sd/usb - to copy use the web server.

samples - this depends a bit on the patch.
patches traditionally saved the samples in the patch directory - for these save new, will copy the samples.
however, patches like orac save the samples as kits in the media folder, so are shared… but you can use different kits. (so save new on orac will not use separate samples)

renaming patches, putting in sub folders.
should be fine, patches should not care where they are located or patch dir name.
(you might find the odd, older, community patch that might break this :wink: )

a couple of things to bare in mind:

  • the sd card, and different USB sticks are like ‘different environments’,
    e.g. you could use different for different setups.
    so things like midi settings are stored on the stick/usb and so not shared.

  • sd card performance is much better than usb, it also seems more reliable :wink:
