Use ipad as a monitor for etc?

Hi there, I’m possibly about to buy an ETC. and was wondering if it is possible to connect the HDMI output to an ipad, and use that as a monitor? Has anyone been able to do this relatively easily?

There is no easy way to use the iPad as an HDMI monitor unfortunately. here are some other small screen options that might work:
