EYESY wont start in HDMI mode

Hello, im using EYESY kind of every day. But today it start to not send video video signal from the HDMI output. I start it in AP mode, and i see that always boot in composite mode. Even if I put nothing on the RCA output. If I put a HDMI cable on the output when it start, is the same. It show also Composite mode the Settings Menu. I dont understand what is happening here.
Actually im using the same hdmi cable output that i was using everyday when it worked.
Im crying :frowning: what can i do?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Which OS version are you running?

A couple things could be going on:

  1. The HDMI cable could be faulty. Have you tried a new one?
  2. Remember that the EYESY’s HDMI port should be connected to a powered HDMI device before you power on the EYESY. If it does not find a suitable HDMI device during boot up, it will default to the composite video output.

Hello, thanks for your time.
I used 3 different cables, cables that i was using with it without problem.
The OS is, the last one, actually I burned the OS in another micro SD and the problem is the same.
For sure I turn it on with TV ON, but i will try today again.
Maybe downgrade the OS can be a nice try.

Thanks.

Nothing :frowning: it boot it with the TV on, also I try on a projector. And still boot in Composite mode.
Will try another OS.

By the way, im using OS version 2.3. Where i can find another versions of the OS?

Thanks.

Ok. I download the beta 3. And still the same, actually im having problems connecting the WIFI with this version of the OS.
I notice that when i Turn ON EYESY with 2.3 version, the led of the composite output is ON, even if i plug the HDMI. Is this normal?
To be honest i dont know what to do, im starting to think that is a hardware thing (who knows) i clean a bit the hdmi output in case is something there but no luck.

I try almost 15 differents HDMI cables (not lying) 3 televisione, 2 monitors, 1 projector. And nothing.
The only way that the unit send something on the HDMI output is converting HDMI to DVI on cable with a computer monitor.
I wish to know what is going here honestly, why something start to malfuncioning from one day to the other… Its impossible to trust in the unit. for example today i have a gig and for sure the place have HDMI input. I dont know what to do.
Is there something that i can do on the OS to force the EYESY to start from HDMI? Or change resolutions? I don’t know maybe is something about the resolution.

But i repeat, all was working perfectly since i bought it 5 months ago.

Ok, this is funny. Now I have black screen in the composite out. I only see images with the conversion HDMI to DVI. I flash and reflash the OS on the Micro Sd. No luck.
The composite output send something, because the TV/Monitor receive signal, but is black.

Strange that HDMI does not work on all those devices, but does work with HDMI to DVI. It could be a connection issue with the hot plug detect (signals to EYESY that a HDMI device is attached) or EDID (display identification).

Here is a disk image that ignores those signals and always outputs HDMI at 720 even if a display is not detected. (the consequence of this is composite is disabled)

Hello, thanks. Will try this image, yesterday night i had a gig and in the end I used the composite output (it work, i don`t know how) with a Composite to HDMI converter, the venue have only HDMI input to the projector.
I asume that with this new image i have only one choice, wich is HDMI output right?
So now i have to have 2 differents SD cards with 2 differents OS. What a shame…

Hello, I installed the 2.3 force HDMI and no image from the HDMI output and (obviusly) no image from the RCA output,
I burn another micro SD with the new OS 3.0 and the same, no HDMI output detect but composite output is sending signal.

I dont know what to do, tomorrow i will do a video to show the problem. I cannot believe whats going.
Do you know if someone can fix this here in europe, in case is a hardware issue? Or is a software problem? I live in Valencia-Spain.

It sounds probable that it is a hardware issue with HDMI, so you should contact support at critterandguitari.com to see about getting it repaired. A local repair shop might be able to help. Have you tried any contact cleaner for HDMI? sometimes this helps, but if you are not getting any signal at all, it might be problem with the PCB inside.

Thanks, for your time.
Yesterday i clean it a bit with isopropyl alcohol, only the contacts…nothing.
And imagie that this is really the problem, how can you explain that with the cable that goes from HDMI to DVI it works?
