It’s a bit sad the Critter Mic is permanently discontinued. It would have suit my needs perfectly.
Any idea of good alternatives at a reasonnable price ?
It’s more than a bit sad ::(( I’m fortunate to have 3 of them and they are just great to use with stuff like my organelle, 5 moons, chompi, and 1010 bluebox. I have several friends who waited too long after I showed mine to them, and now want one very much.
An alternative I’ve seen mentioned elsewhere is a portable recorder such as those made by Zoom and Tascam, etc. Basic models cost around $100, battery power, onboard stereo mics, usually with inputs for other external microphones, headphone/line output, 1/4-20 tripod mount, etc. A lot more going on with the controls and interface than is maybe desired or necessary, but with all the capability of the C&G mic in a fairly compact package.

sorry but no ;;)) i’d buy 3 more of them if I could.
