Orhack (beta)

Thanks, yes the modulation learn/unlearn is not covered extensively on the video, it was actually but that part of the video got corrupted.

Anyway to unlearn modulation parameters is basically the same as learn, with the only difference that you first press and hold aux button on the desired modulation source to engage the unlearn-state then you proceed as usual with ORAC.

Woohoo! Looking much forward to trying it! Had been thinking on some mods I wanted to do to orac, but orhack is all that plus loads more. Thanks so much for your effort!

Also, if I might suggest something: I think a modulation matrix of some sort (maybe like the one in MI Shruthi-1) would be really helpful when handling all the different modulation sources, and it would make it easier to use it in a performative way. Maybe the keys could be used as modulation slot. It’s really the only thing I could think of to improve your work  But I think a modulation matrix could really unlock the potential of your great lfo/random modules.

Sure a mod matrix would be the definitive solution, maybe in a future update!

Regardless the most important thing is that we can now learn/unlearn without messing things up! :slightly_smiling_face:

Awesome video. Thanks for your hard work on this. Also your Organelle looks very lovely. I’ve seen it on the mod thread from before but it looks quite attractive on video.

Also I agree with T8R. Overdrum looks amazing

Super nice and promising. Will it work with Organelle 1 as well?

Thank you, Audivit! This looks great and very well thought out, I can’t wait to try it. The multitrack recording alone will change the way I use the organelle.

Not sure about that as I can only test on Organelle S / M, it will only be supported for this system but who knows maybe it will work! :slightly_smiling_face:

The new sequencer “Overdrum” now has a little melodic brother “Overflow”
with dynamic length per step! :space_invader:

That’s great news! I am using mainly melodic modules:). Excited to try it out

Orhack beta release is coming soon!
I’m polishing up a few details with the included modules, just need to see if it’s the case to create a .zop installer (but I think it would be ideal).

It will be released tomorrow, 18 Jan 2023.

Orhack beta release is out now!

Let me know if it runs fine on your Organelle M & S!

Documentation will be ready for next week, but if you have any questions I’ll be glad to answer them. :slightly_smiling_face:

This is insane!!! Thank you so much. Played a few minutes on my Organelle M. Everything seems fine so far.

Since the new Overflow module wasn’t addressed in the video, here is how it works:

  • navigate steps with encoder knob
  • press and hold “aux” button then (while holding the aux button) play the note you want to enter into the step
  • to delete a note, press and hold “aux” then press and hold any note for a second, hold for longer to erase all notes in the sequencer track.
  • with the aux button not engaged the bottom row of notes are used to navigate between the 7 sequencer tracks, the top row of notes are the 10 patterns.

Overflow it’s best used for sequencing polyphonic synths, performance mutes on Overflow are currently disabled due to a bug with the note off messages, they will be available in the next update along with a simpler single track module and other goodies!

I’m really enjoying it! You’ve done a great job! Especially the modulation, I’ve had tons of fun with it and it’s been a lot more reassuring knowing that if I mess it up, it’s not the end of the world. A couple of quick changes that I would recommend is deleting your patch_loaded.sh file in the main file. It was causing me some grief figuring out why my MIDI controllers weren’t working. Also the orac.json file should be edited because it is not properly pointing to the user-modules directory. I very much appreciate the screensaver you’ve added too :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes. I need to change orac.json and add orhack to mediaDir:

“mediaDir”: “/tmp/media/orhack”,

I’m exploring this patch.

The sequencer is wonderful!

You’re right I’ve forgot to update the orac.json file after deciding to rename the user modules folder! Also forgot to remove the patch_loaded.sh, as that was configured for my setup!

Wow amazing. Awesome work. I look forward to giving it a good work out.

I’ve just rectified the issue with the wrong path inside orac.json file and uploaded the new version on patchstorage. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks @T8R and @raw for pointing this out!
