Advice for buying a second hand organelle m?

hi! new here (: i pulled the trigger on a second hand organelle m and once it gets here i’ll have 3 days to decide whether to keep it or not. i know i want one so that’s not the issue, but i’m wondering if any of you have advice on what to look for first that could be broken or not working right, so i can send it back if i find something wrong with it. known hardware bugs that might appear under specific conditions, wifi or i/o stuff, any specific patches i should be looking at, i really don’t know but i’m sure a lot of you would! sorry if there exists a buyer’s guide on here, i haven’t been able to find one

thanks a lot!

It is probably a good idea to flash the SD card with the latest software, which will also reset the Organelle to its factory state. Instructions for that can be found in the manual:

For the longest time, I had an issue (on my new Organelle M) with the encoder where it would skip over entries, sometimes two or three at a time, go backwards, etc. I sent it back to C&G, they replaced the encoder, and the same issue remained. It was only after I followed the instructions for using Deoxit here (Encoder Issues - #5 by chrisk) that things finally improved. Thus, if your encoder seems a little wonky, I would try this first before returning it.
